History of Phoenix Energy Products
This was Phoenix Energy Products’ Showroom in 1979 when times were simpler. Bonnie, the founder of Phoenix Energy Products (dba PEP Solar) was very innovative by bringing the PEP Showroom to the people of the Navajo Nation.
In 1981, Senator Barry Goldwater (an advocate for the Indian Nations) approached
Phoenix Energy Products to meet with the chairman of the Navajo’s regarding them
dying from asphyxiation from kerosene lamps. So PEP hired a translator and made a
movie on how the Navajo people where making their rugs and kids were using the kerosene
light for their studies for school and dying from the kerosene lamps. PEP was paid
for remote solar electric installs, comprehensive solar education, and early electrical
infrastructure. PEP then through a friend of ours, met with Shell Oil Solavolt which
